According to forecasts in the “World Countertops” study recently published by the Freedonia Group, a leading American market researcher, global demand for kitchen and bathroom countertops – in 2013 about 409 million square meters – will rise on average at a rate of 4.2% annually, reaching 503 million square meters in 2018. In 2013 the largest market for countertops was the Asia-Pacific area, with a 47% share (191 million square meters) of total world demand.
