From March 30 to April 2 CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE – in collaboration with ICE-Agency and with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) in the framework of promotional work for the stone/techno-stone industry – organized the collective participation of Italian stone sector companies at COVERINGS 2026, the top show on the North American market for covering and surfaces, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
On the statistical level it should be mentioned that, despite the difficulties created by the Trump administration’s tariffs, in 2025 the United States strengthened its leadership among destination markets for Italian stone industry products – both materials and allied technologies – for a total of $US 770 million in imports, a slight increase (-1.9%) from the previous year (CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center data). The lion’s share was in Italy’s sales of finished marbles, granites and other natural stones – for which the US was top buyer, with a 33% share – which rose by 5.8%, reaching $US 619.5 million, while there was 5.8% decrease in sales of raw stone.
The United States was also the top market for stone extraction and processing technologies Made in Italy, with purchases in 2025 that, despite a 12.6% downturn, reached 130 million.
