UK, building rebounds in 2024

14 December 2023

After a drop in work last year, 2024 should be characterized by a definite rebound in the United Kingdom’s building sector. This is the expectation contained in the Construction Industry Forecast 2023-2024 published by Glenigan, a British company specialized in building-market analysis. It estimates that in 2024 private homes will increase by 7%, social housing by 11%, commercial buildings by 42% and public works by 11%.

On the stone sector level, we mention that in the first 8 months of 2023 the United Kingdom ranked sixth among importers of finished stone products from Italy, with purchases worth 39 million euros (data from the CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE STUDIES CENTER).
