CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE and Marmomacchine Servizi are partners of PNA | Pietra Naturale Autentica (Authentically Natural Stone), the network of companies created to promote and defend natural stone products. In the context of network activities, on June 12 and 13 the Tolentini auditorium of IUAV University in Venice will host the first “PNA International Forum…Stone is” event – with free admission for registered participants – that will bring together 12 renowned architects (including Peter Eisenmann as special guest speaker), designers, artists, theoreticians, and sector technicians to examine in a contemporary key the many languages of stone amidst design culture, sustainability and artistic exploration.
Curated by scientific coordinator Raffaella Laezza, the program foresees meetings, discussions, workshops and in-depth examinations in six thematic sections that follow the entire life cycle of stone: Origins, Quarries, Genetic Stone DNA in design, CO2 Worksite Check-Up, Metamorphic Urban Archipelago, “Do You Stone Art?”
The PNA International Forum will be the coronation of a route of sensitization and promotion begun with the creation of the PNA | Pietra Autentica Naturale network in 2018, which through the years has brought together more than 40 sector companies, boards and organizations under the aegis of this material that is unique and extraordinary both for its historic and aesthetic as well as its practical and sustainable qualities, as shown by the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies the network conducted in collaboration with the Turin Polytechnic, sector studies that evaluated the environmental impact of natural stones processed in Italy and in other countries.
