1 September 2023

June 5 to 8 were the dates in Xiamen, China, for the 2023 edition of the XIAMEN STONE FAIR, one of the top international tradeshows for stone materials, stone-working technologies and equipment and complementary products. Thanks to a loosening of restrictions on international travel, and especially to the new ability to enter China without undergoing quarantine, for the first time since 2019 the Chinese show saw the return of exhibitors and visitors from around the world.

According to the data issued by its organizers, the XIAMEN STONE FAIR 2023 had 1,308 exhibiting companies – 174 of them foreign – occupying some 170,000 square meters of display space. It also attracted more than 140,000 visitors from 91 nations.

This year CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE again coordinated the participation of Italian stone companies at the Chinese show, organizing an ITALIA pavilion featuring many leading brands of the Made in Italy in the materials as well as the technologies and complementary products sectors.

The Italian companies exhibiting in the Italian area at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center were: AGGLOTECH – BAGNARA NIKOLAUS – CO.ME.S. – CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE – FRANCHI UMBERTO MARMI – GMM – LEATHER STONE – MARMI GHIRARDI – MGI MARMI E GRANITI D’ITALIA – MARMOMACCHINE INTERNATIONAL – OMAG – PELLEGRINI MECCANICA – SAVINO DEL BENE – STONEAG – TRAMBISERA MARMI.

Again for this edition of the XIAMEN STONE FAIR, CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE set up an inviting Meeting Point Italia offering its customary support and promotion services for the exhibitors and many of its members visiting the show. At its stand visitors could also find the association’s 2023 DIRECTORY in its USB pen-drive format, plus the latest issue of MARMOMACCHINE INTERNATIONAL, the reference magazine for the stone industry the association sponsors.

According to data from the CONDINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center, last year China was the top market for raw Italian stone materials, with imports worth 175 million euros, but also ranked nineteenth in purchases of finished and semi-finished stone products Made in Italy, worth nearly 23 million. The Asian country also bought Italian machines, installations and equipment for quarrying and processing natural stone worth 14.7 million euros.
