From November 24 to 27, natural stones and stone technologies Made in Italy strode the stage at MARBLE & STONE WORLD 2025 in Dubai (hwww.big5global.com/visiting-at-marble-and-stone-world/), the tradeshow wholly devoted to the stone industry organized by DMG Events as part of the cluster of events held at the BIG 5 GLOBAL, the reference show for the entire Gulf area’s building industry.
For the Emirati show CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE – in close collaboration with ICE-Agency and in the framework of the 2025 promotional plan for the sector promoted by the association with the backing of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) – organized a big “Italian pavilion” featuring more than 40 companies offering a complete panorama of the finest stones and most advanced stone-working technologies Made in Italy.

Hosted as always at the Dubai World Trade Center, this year BIG 5 GLOBAL had 2,800 exhibitors and more than 85,000 visitors from all over the world, confirming its status as a strategic hub for meeting with the most important operators, architects, interior designers, contractors and builders in the Gulf countries and Middle East. Its success was also echoed by the Italian companies exhibiting, who declared their satisfaction with the level of interest encountered and the quality of the contacts they had during the 4-day show. Satisfaction that was also expressed by the Italian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Lorenzo Fanara, who – accompanied by Honorary President of CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE, Flavio Marabelli and by the director of the ICE office Dubai, Valerio Soldani – visited the Italian area and welcomed the exhibiting companies.

In regard to trade between the United Arab Emirates and Italy, it is interesting to note that in the first 8 months of 2025 the exports from the Italian stone industry to the Persian Gulf country surpassed worth of 52 million euros (CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center data). In detail, the UAE is Italy’s fifth-ranking market for sales of finished and semi-finished products in marble, granite and other natural stones, with more than 41 million in imports, and seventh for exports of raw stones, with purchases worth 6.5 million. The trend was also good for exports of stone-working machinery, lines and complementary products Made in Italy to the Emirates, which from January to August 2025 were worth 4.8 million euros.
