In detail, Saudi Arabia was the seventh-ranking market for Italian finished and semi-finished stone products, amounting to 53 million, and for raw stone, with purchases worth 9 million, while sales of stone-working technologies Made in Italy to the Persian Gulf country from January to November last year amounted to 9.4 million (CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center).

More generally, Saudi Arabia is currently the biggest producer and consumer of building materials in the whole Middle East. According to GlobalData estimates, investments in infrastructure, residential and energy projects in the country’s big development plans will surpass $US 1 trillion.
